Welcome

Welcome to the LJS blog!  I hesitated for a long time about whether or not to include a blog on this latest iteration of my website.  Many people warned me that unless I was committed to posting at least 3 times a week, it wouldn’t be a good idea to have one.  As you can see, I’m not exactly at 3 postings a week yet :) and still I find this a useful way to build community and share thinking on issues around social justice, oppression, listening, leadership, diversity and inclusion. I hope you do too!

As you explore the blog, you’ll see that some of the current and archived postings are my responses or reviews about books that I’m reading, some are insightful human stories of things that happened to me or people I know, others guide you to interesting websites for further information, and still others are musings from my newsletter, reposted here for interactive comment and reflection. Soon I will begin to share some preliminary chapters from my upcoming book with the working title “Everyone is Good (Including You!): A Transformational Guide to Social Justice.”

I am still amazed at the power of blogs to bring voices together from all of the world.  Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to read my (and other’s) thoughts on these topics and for sharing your encouraging and thoughtful feedback.

  1. i am often bouncing all around the internet nearly all of the week thus I have a tendency to read a whole lot, which isn’t commonly a good thing as the largest part of the online resources I see are constructed of unproductive garbage copied from various other sites a trillion times, nevertheless I have to compliment you because this website is indeed readable and features a lot of original information, so thanks for breaking the fad of basically duplicating other peoples’ blogs, in case you ever want to have fun with a couple of hands of myspace poker with me just gimme a shout – you have my e mail :)

  2. lol a couple of of the remarks many people make make me giggle, every now and then i ask myself if they seriously read the article content and threads before writing or if perhaps they take a moment to read the title of the blog post and come up with the very first thought that pops into their heads. in any case, it really is pleasing to browse keen commentary every now and then rather than the same exact, outdated post vomit that i mainly discover on the net

  3. Thanks for your feedback, James, is it? I’m glad that you found the original information on this site helpful; it’s certainly been helpful to me to think through and to hear others’ thinking about these issues. As for myspace poker, I’ve never played. Is it more fun that live-in-person poker?
