We seek to be authentic… At LJS, we are committed to creating interactions that support our clients—and ourselves—to be as genuine as possible, without pretense or posturing. We acknowledge regardless of our roles or positions all humans are peers,. We have a commitment to be transparent and open about our best thinking and any challenges that might impact delivering our best selves, and therefore our best programs, to you.
We seek to be open and responsive… At LJS, we are committed to self-reflection and transparency as a way of staying open to feedback which enables us to grow. This openness allows us to try new things, take risks, and be innovative in our work with you. We acknowledge mistakes when we make them and commit to promptly clear up miscommunication.
We practice good self-care… At LJS, we are committed to a holistic program of health, wellness and well-being. In our work to eliminate oppression, we continuously examine behaviors that may interfere with our wellness. We seek regular physical movement, sufficient rest, internal reflection or meditation, and thoughtful nutrition. This practice lets us be more present in our work with you; it also helps us challenge any internalized oppression that might have us act out in ways that negatively impact our well-being.
We strive for excellence… At LJS, we seek to deliver an exceptional experience—both for the client who works with us in organizing the event and for the participants who attend the program. We attend to the details that support learning and encourage growth for our participants. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work and give the extra effort that will produce excellence!
We practice what we teach… At LJS, we have an ethical commitment to ask of our clients and participants to do only what we ourselves have done or are willing to do. We believe this leads to continuous learning, compassion, and understanding when working with our participants. We also believe that this leads to a more authentic experience, which supports our core mission for social justice.
We are building community… At LJS, we view relationship building as an act of transformation. Trust is required for authenticity. Authenticity and understanding are necessary for systemic change. We acknowledge the indisputable impact of people coming together, in community, and that knowing each other and being understood increases our capacity to lead and bring about transformative change.
