Facilitation
LJS offers professional facilitation services that assist groups to be more authentic in their communication, improve their performance, produce measurable and clear outcomes, and be more successful in implementing and accomplishing their stated goals.
Using LJS’s “5 Ds” Process to facilitation: Discover, Design, Delivery, Documentation and Debrief, we facilitate a complete process.
Discovery: We ask questions that assist us, the client, and the group to clarify objectives. By staying curious, we continue to learn more about the group and its needs. This approach helps the group become clearer about its needs as well.
Design: We custom design an agenda, drawing from an extensive array of activities and exercises, that meet the objectives determined in the discovery stage. We work with groups to determine the achievability of outcomes. We are especially attentive to the care of the group, identifying organizationally appropriate ways to maximize participation and address various learning styles.
Delivery: We encourage full inclusion by using participatory processes and methods in a spirit of collaboration. We pay close attention to barriers to full inclusion: what’s not said, who’s not in the room, and underlying emotions that may be at play. This assists groups to strive for full transparency and accountability. By focusing on stated outcomes, the group stays energized toward its common goal.
Documentation: Throughout the five stages, we document meetings to maintain clear communication. During the “Delivery” stage, we are especially skilled at fully capturing the group’s thinking in their own words. After the event we produce an easy-to-read, comprehensive document that both becomes a representation of the event and assists in the implementation of decisions made by the group. We also produce a photo gallery with a link for each event that participants can access.
Debrief: We reflect on what worked well and what could have been improved. Using both written evaluations from the event and a debrief conversation with the client after the event; we jointly identify areas of learning that help the group move forward. At this stage we also discuss strategies with the client to ensure implementation and clarify next steps.
